Have a Happy and SAFE Halloween!

We hope you have a wonderful Halloween celebration on Tuesday! In order to keep you and your trick-or-treaters safe, please consider the following tips as you put the finishing touches on your celebration:

  1. Dress like a ghoul or goblin or any other fantastic costume, but stay safe and remember to take water with you with our warmer temps this year.
  2. Make sure costumes and candy containers are reflective and can be seen easily.
  3. To avoid tripping, ensure costumes don't drag on the ground and wear good walking shoes.
  4. Trick-or-treat with trusted friends and neighbors. Plan your route ahead of time to find the safest, most efficient route to the candy!
  5. Driver's, please drive slowly and anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic. Children are excited on Halloween and may move in unpredictable & erratic  ways and may run into the street.
  6. Keep footpaths clear for trick-or-treaters by placing decorations where visitors won't walk. Additionally, ensure electrical cords don't cross footpaths and keep entryways well lit to avoid tripping over the front stoop or any steps up to your door.
  7. Keep an eye on your jack-o-lanterns and make sure to extinguish the candle before you call it a night.
  8. Keep candies away from pets. All forms of chocolate-especially baking or dark chocolate-can be dangerous, even lethal, for dogs and cats.
  9. Check all candy before diving in and eating it. Throw away any unwrapped candy.
Stay safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
