For our June hike, we are going to set foot on the Arizona Trail even if only for a 5.1 mile out & back hike on Freidlein Prairie Trail June 25th! The Arizona Trail is an 800 mile trail going from the Arizona-Mexican border north to the Utah border! This has been one of my dreams ever since learning of the trail's existence! I'm excited to hike a small portion of the trail this month and then head back into town to the Lumberyard Brewery for a great beer or two and a delicious lunch before heading back down to Phoenix! Last month's hike up Soldier's Pass was one of the best hikes I've done in a long time! This one is just outside downtown Sedona and heads up a canyon past Devil's Kitchen Sinkhole and continues up the canyon and around Brins Mesa and back around. I must say my favorite part was coming down the back side of Brin's Mesa! Very peaceful and extremely beautiful with views for miles in every direction! Well worth the trip!
